Works on your Workdesk? Wednesday 143

I am sooooo late posting this week!  I am having a go at Encaustic Art.  I have had the kit for ages and never really had a proper go so thats what I have been doing today. Its my husband's burthday on Monday so I thought I would try and come up with something for his card.  It took several attempts but I finally came up with a kind of abstract picture which I think is ok.  So below is my rather messy desk.  That's why the post is so late, didn't want to stop until I had finished.

I was going to add a picture of the finished card but Blogger won't let me so will do another post in a sec with that.  If you don't know what WOYWW is all about, then click here to find out and join in with Julia and all of us Wednesday snoopers!  Thanks for visiting and have a good week xx

I've only heard about encaustic art and am not sure what it's all about. I'm not much of a technique person myself and live vicariously through you all. The finished product looks pretty cool though.

Visiting on Thursday as i ran out of hours during Wednesday! but so glad i am because i get to see the finished card, I watched a programme a while ago on Create and craft tv showing the encaustic art technique, i had seen some of the finished art before but had no idea how it was done, it was amazing and really made me want to play, it really looks fabulous, the finished art is stunning and hubby will love it - a brilliant brilliant card. Hope you have a great weekend Lou x

I've seen this art on tv but never ventured towards it myself. Your card is stunning, I love the shapes and texture. Your pic of it is fab but I bet you're right and that it is more vibrant in reality. Happy Thursday to you, hope you enjoy this week's snoop around the oh so creative spaces & take care. Zo xx 83

It i so good to see the card in progress. I haven't tried encaustic art (yet!), except for a couple of dabbles with beeswax.
