What's on your Workdesk? Wednesday 177

Here we are, Wednesday again and time to seek inspiration by peeking around lots of crafty desks!  To join in visit Julia's Fab Blog - go on, you know you want to!

I had to rush an anniversary card this morning - the finished card and various remnants you can see.  Anyone who visits my blog regularly will notice I have made this card before but I didn't have time to think, just to do!  Last time I used H2Os for the background, this time I used Lyra Aquacolours for the background - scribble on, spray with water, sploosh about with a paint brush, dry then spray with pearl Glimmer mist - so fast!  I had hardly used them till last Wednesday, they now are one of my current favourites.  To the left is the start of a card using another Gesso background from last Wednesday - my last post is a completed one. The ruler you can see is from the set of three Perfect Layers Tools.  I use them for matting and layering.  If you haven't heard of them, each has little lips on at different widths which catch on your first layer then you use the steel edge on the tool and a craft knife to cut your layers.  It takes a bit of practice but I love them.  My description is a bit rubbish but I am sure there is something on the internet.

Well I have rambled on for long enough, thanks for visiting and have a fab WOYWW.  Take care.  Christine xx

OMW, Chris, your Anniversary card is stunning. You make it sound all slap-dash easy-peasy, but the recipient would never know that - it's really beautiful!

A gorgeous card, Chris. Skilled stamping on a lovely background. I prefer this to your previous one due to the more delicate colouring.
I'm intrigued by the ruler. I'm off to investigate! J x

I think it looks awesome!! You know, I have twinkling h2o's and I'm now sure I use them right. They are cakes in little pots and I add water and it becomes like an acrylic consistency. Weird? Or is it supposed to be like that. I don't know!!!
Happy WOYWW!

A great card, Chris - fabulous colours, and I love the blue background on the left as well.

Thanks for your visit, and glad you like my tiger. You can see him completed on my next post, which also gives details of how I created the page.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Love the technique for the background. I've used oil pastels in a similar way, but yours has the advantage of being able to stamp on it with anything. I have to try this. Have a great week, Shaz #107
