Abstract Cards

On Wednesday (desk hopping day) I was playing with my Encaustic Art kit and these are the finished cards.

Each card is part of a piece.  I never quite know where I am going with abstracts and find its good sometimes to just focus on one part of what I have created and use that.  The colours never come out too well in my photo's, the top one is very purple - but you can't really see it. The second one is my favourite. I have some pictures left but haven't turned them into cards yet.. My husband is an avid record collector and I also still play records as well as cd's.  On his travels today he bought me the Sinatra Family Christmas Album from the sixties so I am listening to that at the moment.  I know, Christmas in February!  I had to hear it though.  I love music of all genres from the White Stripes to Dolly Parton and everything in between!  I have loads of Christmas music in my collection - this one is very traditional and very Christmassy!  Fabulous! Thank you for visiting and I hope you all have a lovely weekend.  Take care.  Christine xx

Both are really beautiful Chris, the first one looks quite mystical and the second one looks like a stream that has frozen in a winter's scene. Beautiful work! Hugs, Anne x

Oh wow, Chris ... those abstracts were impressive enough just lying on your desk ... these are amazing cards! I have the same trouble photographing purple/lavender ... I always get lots of grey rather than deep rich colour. These though are very vibrant at this end! Anita :)

Your encaustic pieces are amazing, Chris. They looked good in your previous post but now I can see them in more I am blown away by them. They have such depth and texture and, clearly, make such wonderful cards. Stunning!
Enjoy your Christmas Album (I can sometimes be heard singing Christmas carols in the summer!!).

These are gorgeous, and now I am glad I was late calling by.
Well done you.
And who says we cannot listen to Christmas music in February! I often have it on when I am making my Rudolph Day cards throughout the year!

Beautiful art, Chris. It reminds me of illustrations for science fiction. Amazing the effects you can get with wax.

Many thanks for your good wishes for our house move. Lots to do, but we'll get through it!
