Its that day again! A trip round crafty desks courtesy of the brilliant Julia. Its definitely worth joining in, its so much fun!
Encaustic art (using an iron to paint with wax) is the order of the day today. I need to make a card for a male friend and I think an abstract card will be just the thing. I find these type of cards really useful for male cards. I started with the intention of making loads of pictures, abstract and landscapes too, but I haven't been too well this week and have had to stop! So annoying! Its a big sit down with lots of cups of tea for me this afternoon. Have a fabulous day and thank you for visiting my desk. Take care. Christine xx

Great looking backgrounds done there, Christine! And I learned a new word, that sounded like one of my made-up words, encaustic! So, well done; I love learning new words. Hope you feel better soon and thank you for your visits to the Playhouse! Darnell #47
Your encaustic backgrounds look wonderful, Chris, and I can see why they would make such good cards for a male.
I have played with a bit of beeswax, but would like to try encaustic art at some point. I am resisting buying more stuff though!
Hope the tea helped!
This looks interesting Christine - would love to see the finished product! Hope you are feeling better soon sending get well hugs Susan x

Sorry to hear you are not well, hope that by now you are feeling at least a bit better. All kinds of things flying around over here so hopefully when I get back home the cold weather will kill off any germs I might have caught.
Interesting to see encaustic wax on your desk, something I have not done in a long time. Must look up my iron and things when I get home - now, wonder if I have some wax.
Take care
Hugs, Neet xx

Ooh, those card backgrounds are fab, I really like them and can see why you use them for male cards!! I'm sorry to hear you've been poorly.... Hope you get better soon!!

Sorry to hear you are not feeling too good at the moment, hope you are soon back to full strength. Encaustic art looks wonderful. I watched someone doing it recently and had to sit on my hands in case I rushed off to order the equipment. I really cannot take up another hobby at the moment. Maybe when I have finished cataloguing my stuff and used up some of the other stuff .... and so it goes on. Thank you for your visit today. Hope you were sitting in front of a nice cosy fire with a blanket and lots of hot drinks while you did your blogging. Take care. xx Maggie
Mm had me scurrying to Mr Google then you tube to find out just what you are talking about - looks like really great fun!!

I never thought about an abstract card being so perfect for a man, but you are spot on right! I've not tried encaustic painting before, hope you'll show a close up of your card when you're finished! Thanks for visiting my blog, waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥
I am late visiting but the bonus is that I get to see the finished cards!! Love the patterns and colours and yes, they would work well for male cards. Annette
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm so late this week.

By now I hopeyou are feeling better, sorry for not getting back to you sooner I do hope you will forgive me. Love the abstract cards, perfect for all sorts of styles.

Belated WOYWW Greetings
Thanks for stopping by.
wow iron and wax? Too scary for me to even attempt..thumbs up from me :)
Encustic work is gorgeous and very vintage as I recall seeing i in the homes of elderly relatives. Never dared to try it as i spill drop and wreck enough without a hot pot of wax around.
