Happy Father's Day!

Today I am sharing the Father's Day card I made for my fabulous Father-in-law. I hope he likes it! This makes three posts in three days for me - I don't think I have ever done that before!

I started by masking off the edges of a piece of Clarity card which has a lovely shiny silk finish then I added a Clarity moon mask.  A brayer isn't something I have used for inking for quite a while and works so well on this silk card so it had to be done!  I used a couple of colours of Distress Inks then sprayed lightly with water and dabbed with kitchen roll  for a bit of texture.  I removed the mask and coloured the sun with Distress Ink. The stamping was done using the wonderful Clarity stamp set, Birdhouse Garden and black Archival Ink. The squirrel and little bird on the top (that bird came with my Clarity 'handmade by' set) were added after I removed the masking tape.  I drew a double squiggly line around the edge of the inked picture to frame it.  Ooh and nearly forgot, the fence was coloured with a Promarker.  The panel was then adhered to a black base card.

This fabulous stamp set has so many elements it is really versatile, I love it!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Clarity Stamp - Masculine
Stamping Sensations - Feature a Creature
Bizzy Becs - Anything Goes
Allsorts - How Does Your Garden Grow

Some fabulous challenges on these blogs - worth a peek me thinks!

Thank you for visiting me, I am so chuffed I have managed these three posts on consecutive days! It may never happen again!

Take care. Christine xxx

Masculine Birthday Card

I have terrible trouble with cards for men but this large Happy Birthday stamp is perfect!

The stamp is from Woodware and I stamped it in black Versafine embossed with clear powder then coloured with three different colour Promarkers.  I coloured some scraps of card with the same colours of Promarkers then cut the little stars out using a die from Mama Elephant.  The border around the edge was drawn with a thin marker pen then the panel adhered to a Kraft card base.  I am really happy with the CAS result and I like the colours which are very different to what I usually use. This stamp is so useful.  It can be used for anyone just by changing the colours and adding different embellishments or just leaving it with no embellishments and adding glossy accents or glitter.  I have another large stamp with just the word 'happy' and then several little sentiments to go with it.  It is so far un-inked!  I must get round to using it sometime!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

The Craft Barn - Stars
Bizzy Becs - Anything Goes
Casology - Masculine

All these blogs are definitely worth a peek!

Thank you so much for popping by, I love it when you do and look forward to reading any comments.

Take care and have a fabulous weekend!  Christine xxx

Take Time To Dream!

Hello!  Its so nice of you to hop on by and see what I am up to!  I haven't blogged for a while but should be doing more posts - at least for the next few days! I have challenges to enter before they finish!

I love, love, love this image!  Its IndigoBlu and was free in a set with a magazine a while back, how cool was that!  All the stamps used on this card are IndigoBlu.  The background was a piece I had already inked with Distress Inks and the pieces of card I used for the main image, butterflies and letters were all snippets of card left over from previous inky projects.  The background was stamped with lace from Nottingham Lace and watches from Take The Time in Imperial Purple Versafine.  I then popped the piece through my Grand Calibre with a swirl mask to add some background embossing and gently inked over the top to bring out the detail.  The lady and letters for 'Dream' (Circus Alphabet) were stamped in Black Versafine and embossed with clear powder with the butterflies, again from Circus Alphabet, stamped in Purple Versafine and embossed with clear powder.  I then fussy cut them all out.  The lady was popped up on double sided tape and the letters, butterflies and sequins were added using Cosmic Shimmer PVA.  'Take time to'  are Tim Holtz chit chat stickers.  You can't see it very well in the photo but I have added loads of Star Dust Stickles so there is lots of lovely sparkle.  You can't dream without a bit of sparkle!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

IndigoBlu Challenge - May...all your dreams come true!
Pixie's Snippets Playground - Use Snippets!
Bizzy Becs Store - Anything Goes!

These are all fabulous blogs - definitely worth a visit!
