Cat Lovers Hop 2017

Hello, thank you for visiting me and for all your kind comments and thoughts about my not being well and not able to blog/craft lately.  You are all such lovely people!  I am still feeling pretty rubbish and am blogging a card I made a while ago - for my son Michael's birthday way back in May!  Its perfect for the Cat Lovers Hop so a good time for it.  Darren, my husband, and I both love cats but unfortunately are not in a position to have one these days with both of us being on long term sick.  Our finances are hardly enough to keep us so it would be unfair to  have a cat, as much as we would love one!  Their food, vet bills, insurance etc. being costly. Also looking after one would not always be easy for us.  We last had a cat with us four years ago.  Unfortunately he was elderly and got very sick and had to leave us.  We still miss him - his name was Lucky and he actually came with the house we live in as the previous owners could no longer have him.  He was very timid, absolutely gorgeous and so good tempered, bless him!  Here is a piccie,

Here is the card I made for Michael with cats on it that look complete pickles to me and not so timid!

The 'Son' is a Papermania stamp which was stamped with Versafine ink and coloured with Promarkers.  I then stamped the fun silhouette cats which are from a very old NBUS (never before used Schtuff) clear stamp set, The Cat's Meow  by Hunkydory and they were stamped in Black Versafine using my Misti so I could re-stamp several times to get perfect silhouette stamping and perfect placement. The footprints were stamped as a background using a footprint from the same stamp set in Vintage Sepia Versafine.   The sentiment is stamped in Black Versafine using Label Maker Sentiments from My Favorite Things on orange card then I finished off with card candy along with Glossy Accents on the 'Son' and the green cats eyes.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Cat Lovers Hop - 2017 - You must have a cat as the focal point of your project.

Penny Black and More - Close to Nature.
Bizzy Becs - Anything Goes.

Thank you again for visiting.  Hope you are having a fab week.  Take care. Christine xxx

So sorry you lost your precious Lucky, never easy and so heart breaking. He was a beautiful boy, and I know you must miss him.

The card you made for your son is adorable - I like how you applied the Glossy Accents - very cool effect! Yay for the Cat Lovers Hop!

Those cats on your son's card are so fun! They made me giggle! Sorry to hear about your illness... Here's hoping today is a good day! I am in the same situation regarding keeping a cat... I could probably push the condo rules, but can't take care of myself let alone a cat... unless he could cook and clean and do dishes and laundry. lol! I get my fur therapy from my friend's cat.

Awww Chris, Lucky looks lovely, and the name suits because he was Lucky to have found such a loving home. They do leave paw prints on your heart but sadly not everyone is as responsible as you've been in recognising the commitment both financial and otherwise that they need. Hopefully you will both be well enough to have another furry friend in the future.
Your card is fabulous, not seen those stamps and I love how you've used them with the fun Son stamp!

Have a lovely day

Love your crazy cats. They do seem super jazzed up and not at all timid. I enjoyed hearing about your cat that came with the house story.

A really super and fun card you made for your son Chris. I gather you all loved your cats dearly. We lost our Maggy dog nearly 4 years ago and miss her and talk about her every week. Barbxx

Lovely card and a super sweet cat :-) He had such wonderful markings on his face.
Sorry to hear you are both in poor health and it's a shame you cannot have a kitty :-(
Lovely to meet you at the Hop.

I'm a dog person, rather than a cat person, but I can understand how these creatures really become a part of the family. It is really when hard when they are no longer with us.
I love your quirky card, and I hope Michael did too. It's such fun! Jx

What a fun and energetic card and a beautiful photo of Lucky. You are right about owning pets costing quite a bit of money and I hope that you and your husband have more good days than bad with your health. I find that crafting often helps with easing the pain from various illnesses and love what you shared on the hop.

Oh, that Lucky was a handsome chap!!! Love the wonderful splash of black on his nose!! <3 I'm so sorry your health doesn't allow you to have a kitty now. Hope the situation improves in the future. Any kitty would be Lucky to be in your home!!

Love your fun and colorful card. It's so creative to have the kitties climbing around and hanging on the SON.

Thank you so much for joining in the #CatLoversHop2017!
