Silent Night

Its Rudolph days challenge over at ScrappyMo's again.  Its a fab way of getting started early on your Christmas cards!  I used a Stampendous stamp called Silent Night and made two cards - one monochrome and one with an inky background.

Both of these are quite clean and simple as you can see. The monochrome one is stamped using black Versafine and embossed with clear sparkle embossing powder.  The second one has a background using Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers with the stamping in black Archival. I then brayered a thin coat of Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium over the whole panel for sparkle. The first one has a darker impression and more sparkle but I prefer the second cause I love the colours.  Both have the addition of layers and stones to finish them off.

If you can its worth popping over to Rudolph Days Challenge - if fabulous to see all the Christmas cards there and ScrappyMo's blog is just fabulous!

Thank you so much for visiting me - I really appreciate it! I hope your week is going well.  Take care. Christine xxx

Two very stunning cards! The first is darker but dramatic, methinks.

The second is gorgeous and inkylicious!

Thanks for taking part in the April Rudolph Days Challenge. Good luck in the prize draw!

These are both GORGEOUS! And it feels more like the winter/holidays that I'm used to seeing--treeless leaves and a cold feeling but not that 4-lettered stuff (S-N-O-W). I like the one with the hint of color better too. Very, very nice!

These are two fantastic cards, Chris! I kept scrolling back and forth between the two and it was neat, like watching a foggy morning turn into a beautiful day as the sun broke through!! Have a great weekend!! Hugs, Darnell

Ooh, I like these, hard to say which one I prefer as they are both so beautiful.
Hope you do manage to do a canvas for AT as I think you would do it beautifully.
Sorry I have not been around but the internet connection was almost non existent at the hotel.

These are both so striking, Chris ... the monochrome one's full of drama ... the stamping and addition of the colours on the second makes for a soft, delicate look ... just lovely! Anita :)

These are so beautiful. I love the overlapping branches and the gorgeous colours give the pink one such impact.

Could you please explain the technique you used to get the inked background?
