Sea Horse Card!

Hello, its so nice of you to visit my little blog!  Thank you very much.  This is a card I made last year for my very good friend Anne's birthday but never blogged it.  Anne also sent me the little Tim Holtz sea horse die cut, along with many more, as I don't have the die set, thank you so much Anne!

The background is done with my Encaustic Art waxes and craft iron.  I don't use them as often as I should.  I sealed the wax with a special sealer so it doesn't scratch then mounted the piece on a white card blank.  Popped the little seahorse in the corner with a blue stone for the eye.  I shouldn't say it about my own work but I absolutely love this!  With Encaustic, you can never get the same effect twice.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

A Vintage Journey - Melt It.
That's Crafty - Feeling Blue.
Country View Challenges - Anything But Cute.

Thank you again for visiting me!  Take care.  Christine xxx

Chris, you know already that I totally adore this card and if it is possible, it is even more beautiful in real life! Your encaustic work is stunning and I am so thrilled that you have added it to Julia's challenge over at A Vintage Journey! Hugs, Anne xx

Oh and you've made me want to get my waxes and iron out - I forget sometimes how gorgeous encaustic art can be. I've often combined it with stamping but never with die cuts - this is gorgeous and the seahorse is perfect for the watery cavern effect you have created.

Wow - this is magical! I've never used this technique - it's so unusual.

I love your encaustic art Chris, it is amazing how you have achieved that beautiful pattern. My mother tried encaustic art some years ago and I think she still has the iron and waxes I will have to see if I can have a play with it one day, but I imagine it is very tricky xx

Wow! Your encaustic background looks amazing Chris and also quite frosty too, really love that effect and the white seahorse pops so well against it.
Thanks for joining in our blue challenge and wishing you lots of luck.

Isn't that Anne the sweetest?! Your encaustic background for the darling little seahorse is breathtaking, Chris! I've never done that and it fascinates me the designs that one can create! This is magnificent for an undersea world!! It's a winner in my book!! Hugs, Darnell

Wow, that background looks amazing, Chris. It has such depth, it leads the eye right into the card. I haven't tried encaustic waxes (yet), but they seem to produce such wonderful results. And the little seahorse is lovely. Jx

I’ve never done encaustic art but have seen demonstrations. What an amazing effect you have achieved here Chris and you should be pleased with it (we are quick enough to criticise our own work)
Love the addition of the little seahorse, perfect finishing touch for your background
Have a great weekend
