So Sorry!

Before I post my card I just want to say that I am so very sorry I have been away from Blogland for so long, both posting and, more importantly, commenting on your wonderful blogs.  I am very intermittent anyway due to mine and my husbands ill health, but recently, a very good friend took a sharp decline with her cancer and died very much earlier than was expected and it really hit us all hard. I am going to try and get back to the crafting world and just wanted to let you know I am still here and that I appreciate your patience and support so very much, thank you!

My card is one I made for my brother's birthday last month but haven't put on the blog so thought I would do that today.

I used the resist technique for the background.  I inked the large (very old) wooden rubber stamp with Versamark ink then embossed with white detail powder.  I first used an anti static pad and took the card to the stamp as it is such a large stamp.  I then inked over the whole piece with various blue Distress Inks then wiped over the top with a baby wipe to remove any ink from the embossing.  The stars were die cut, the first three are from a free die set that came with a magazine and the two tiny ones are punched.  The sentiment is from a little clear set, not sure what make, and again embossed with white detail powder.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

The Craft Barn - Blue or Blues
Pixie's Snippets Playgrouned - use snippets (my stars and sentiments are all from card in my bits box)
bizzy Becs - Anything Goes

These are all fab blogs, worth a visit for sure!

Thank you for popping by - I appreciate it so much!  Take care. Christine xxx

I'm sorry you have lost your friend so soon, Chris. On top of you both not feeling well, it's understandable that you didn't feel like being on the computer. Thank you for sharing the fabulous card you made for your brother! You are so sweet to make cards that make the recipients feel like stars! You are both in my heart and my prayers! Love and hugs, Darnell

What a lovely card Chris - the background is so perfectly topped off with those stars and the sentiment.

Really sorry to hear about your friend, I've lost friends through the same dreadful disease and it's a real shaker for sure. Take care of you and your hubby, wishing you happier days.

Hugs

Di xx

Your background came out really nice. I'm just not able to heat emboss like the rest of y'all. I've always got to have a big glob of schmootz somewhere. Yours is awesome! Flawless!

I know I have said sorry already but I am truly sorry about your friend Chris, it is totally understandable that it is taking you time to get back to blogging. The card you made for your brother is lovely, I really love the blues and the resist technique, it looks wonderful! Thinking of you and you know where I am if you need to 'chat'. Big hugs, Anne xx

So sorry to hear that you have lost a dear friend. Hope this hot weather has not made conditions harder for you to deal with.
Your card for your brother is a great masculine style. I don't do much heat embossing as I either get too much on a card or so little I might just have will not bothered.! Yours is perfect and I like the blues. Hugs Mrs A.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your good friend, Chris ... it's so hard when it happens sooner than expected. Give yourself the time you need to get back to crafting ... we'll all still be here when you're ready. Fabulous card for your brother ... those blended blue hues are gorgeous over the white embossing! Hugs, Anita :)
