I've Been A Busy Bee Making Cards!

Hello and thank you for visiting me!  My first creative post for a very long time and I have made two cards!  Anyone who knows me personally knows I am scared of bees (wasps too) but in aid of Darnell's fabulous Twofer challenge I bought a bee stamp set (they had to be cute bees, not too realistic) and away I went!  So I would like to enter my cards in the Twofer Challenge which is Bees!

For both cards I used the 'Bee' sentiment and another one from the set along with two of the bees.  The set is Bee Happy by Hunkydory.  All stamping is done with black Versafine.  I hope these are ok to enter as when I look at them now, the layouts are rather similar - sorry!  I didn't realise when I was making them - I was so involved (and enjoying myself!).

The one below also used lots of coloured snippets from my bits box to make the flower from Sizzix die set Flower Set.

The frame is from a die set from Gummiapan that I bought via Hochanda.  The frame is from a snippet too.  I added clear sparkle pen to the bees wings and the flower centres.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Pixies Snippets Playground - use Snippets.
Country View Challenges - its a Bugs Life.

An inky background for the this one.

I started with a piece of watercolour card then inked up an acrylic block with Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Ripe Persimmon Distress Inks, spritzed it with water then pressed it onto the watercolour panel,  Using the same inks, I stamped the background with IndigoBlu Collector's Edition No. 2 French Script and Creative Expressions Chicken Wire.  Then black Versafine for the main stamping.  The bees wings were sparkled with clear sparkle pen.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenge:

Stamping Sensations - Show Your True Colours.

It is so nice crafting and blogging again - I hope to keep it up more regularly as much as I can.

Thank you so much for visiting me and have a lovely weekend.

Take care - Christine xxx

Oh, sugar, what a sweet friend you are to overcome your fear of bees, BUY a bee set, and come out of your bloggie break just to support my challenge! Mwah! You picked a really cute set; I love those curlie antennae and the way you schparkled the wings! Your honeycomb background is beautifully smooched in golden honey colors on your first card and I love the simplicity of your single flower loaded with pollen on your second design! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #17! Hugs, Darnell

I am so thrilled to see you crafting again and what a lovely pair of cards to be back with! I share your fear of wasps but I do love to see bees in the garden and these bees are just so adorable with their curly antennae and the flowers you used on both are really pretty! Love the chicken wire in the background too, it suits the bees so well.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend, we have sunshine today - yay! Hugs, Anne xxx

Well you came back with a bang Chris as you have created two super cards and helped overcome your fear as well so good on you. The floral card is a lovely design with all the white space but my favourite has to be the one of the left, merely because it's all inky which is very much my kind of crafting. Lovely to see you ate Stamping Sensations June challenge, thanks so much for joining in and I hope we see you again.

My DH is allergic to bees, so we try to keep them out in the flower beds and away from the doors. Your NBUS bee set is adorable, and those bees are cute rather than scary. Love the background you've created on your bee well card. Those blooms in black really stand out against that yellowy orange. Your second card is pretty and most definitely happy. I love the sparkle you've added to their wings. Two sweet cards! Thanks for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev

Those silhouette flowers against the honeycomb background make for such a lovely spot for your bees, Chris ... and what a sweet, single, snippet bloom on your second card! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)

Wow Chris - you're back with a bang - these are really awesome cards! Clever you - I just love them. And, I love bees as well - not wasps but there's a story why - looking back it was funny but also flipping painful!

Me again - I wrote about the wasp incident on my blog back in 2012. Today's 'let's have a laugh at Di's expense'. Enjoy!

Lovely cards and they are quite different in style. They make me want to get stamping, I must make time. I like to see bees going about their business and keeping away from me! I love the honeycomb background. x

I do love bees, we have a nest in our garden so I've been guarding them but wasps are another matter. These are lovely it's great to see you back crafting!
I've neglected blogging recently so just having a catch up of my favourites while I have a spare evening - don't know where the time goes!
Your new craft room looks fabulous, mine (and many others I imagine) look just like your before pictures!
Enjoy your weekend

Two beautiful and colourful creations for our true colours challenge! I can totally relate to your feelings about bees, after a nasty experience in my school days. I still find them fascinating though and I know how important they are to our planet. Thanks for joining us at Stamping Sensations this month and good luck

It's so nice to see your beautiful cards again, Chris. They are both lovely and those bees are so cute. I particularly like the yellowy orange card with the honeycomb background. Jxx

Two great cards and I really like the contrast of these - the inky honeycomb background with the beautiful silhoutte stamping, and the crisp look of the perky die-cut bloom.
