I decided to use the Sizzix Thinlets Intricate Vintage Butterfly die on both of my cards. Butterflies just make a summer garden perfect!
I see some really different cards that people make for this challenge but I am not so good at coming up with really cool, alternative ideas but I do like how these came out.
This birthday card started off using a background that I had in my pre-made stash which I had also used to clean a wave stencil on from a previous make which left a cool cloudy effect. I did some second and third generation stamping using an Indigo Script stamp and the flowers and leaves are Paperartsy rubber stamps stamped in Versafine Clair. The Butterfly is cut from an old business card of my husbands which I had painted with acrylic paint. I have loads of them from him and his Dad and they are so useful. I backed the pink butterfly with cream glitter card using the Bigz die that co-ordinates. The colour added to the flowers and leaves is Imagination Crafts Starlight paints and the sentiment is a Lili of the Valley Rubber Stamp.
I love sending 'sending hugs' cards if people are feeling down, ill or have a bereavement or just because!
The background paper is Lili of the Valley and I love the little hearts scattered down the side. I cut the three butterflies from black card and the sentiment is using My Favourite Things Label Maker Sentiments and Versafine Clair ink. Very simple but I love it! I have to confess my husband has come up with an idea to use this card for something else - all to be revealed in another post!
I love supporting Darnell in this fabulous Twofer challenge although I don't always manage it!
Take care and have an absolutely fabulous day! Christine xxx

Two very different cards Chris and both gorgeous....it’s amazing how different a die cut can look in monochrome...xxx
A beautiful background effect on your birthday card! That is definitely not a piece to toss out. Very soft and pretty. I always love a tall or semi-tall card, too. A lovely trio of butterflies. Thank you for playing along with us at Twofer!
Your background stamping on your birthday card looks fabulous and the pop of pink on the pretty die cut is so eye catching x. Such an elegant sending hugs card and the design is wonderful x Glorious cards, both of them x
And I appreciate your support, Chris! You came up with two distinctly different designs for your butterfly cards! Well done! I love that serendipitous background on your first design with the pretty flowers and grasses! And great upcycling with the business card to make the pretty butterfly! Your tall second design with a trio of delightful butterflies will make anyone feel special and hugged! Can't wait to hear what Darren's idea is! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #18! Hugs, Darnell
Two beautiful butterfly cards. I love the pretty coloured background on the top card. The second is so elegant. Hugs Mrs A.
I can just imagine the butterflies fluttering over a garden on a summer breeze as you depicted in your square card. Your butterfly threesome is lovely as well. Thank you for playing along with Twofer Card Challenge.
What a dreamy background for your delicate flowers on the birthday card, Chris ... the pink butterfly really pops against it! Your trio of dainty butterflies is so pretty ... those hearts on the pp are just so sweet too! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
The flowers on the first card are beautiful and I love that you made the butterfly from a business card. The butterflies on the second card are gorgeous. Two different but beautiful designs. Love them! Hugs, Anne xx
Two beautiful, and very different, cards, Chris. I like them both! Jx
